Emergency Filing Procedures When the Electronic Case Filing System is Not Available

To adequately serve the needs of the members of the bar and provide a means for filing when the Electronic Case Filing System is down, the Clerk's Office of the U. S. Bankruptcy Court for the Northern District of Texas has instituted emergency filing procedures for its divisions as outlined below.

The U. S. Bankruptcy Court for the Northern District of Texas has defined an emergency filing as a new petition that cannot be delayed until the electronic system is available or until the next business day during normal operating hours of the clerk's office.

To initiate an emergency filing, the individual filing the petition must dial 214-753-2101 or 1-800-442-6850 x2101.

At the tone, please leave your name, phone number, and nature of your emergency. The deputy clerk assigned to monitor the emergency phone line will determine if the filing meets the necessary requirements to be considered an emergency, and if so, will make arrangements to accept the filing at a location convenient to both parties. This location may or may not be at the clerk's office. Necessary fees will be collected at the time of filing.
